The MITM (tm) '97
I finally reached the campground, stopped at the
registration, shook hands with Jimmy and some others, got my tshirt, but
the only thing that went through my head was "You've really made it, dammit!!
You're at the Meet in the Middle!!! :-)"
I guess, that huge german license plate of my bike told
everybody right away from where it's owner is coming from. While I was
pitching my tent, people came over to me all the time, introduced themselfes
and I finally got to meet 'hundreds' of fellow digesters face to face.
I shook hands with so many people, after a short time the 'Name-Overload'
alarm went off in my brains ;-)
Anyway, I've had a helluva great time this weekend
meeting all you fine folks!! The saturday ride lead by Ed Eckert was one
of the most amazing experiences I've made. People were standing along the
streets with their kids and waving to us, no cager complained about being
'forced' to relinquish his right of way so the whole group could cross
the intersection... Imagine 50 Harleys doing the same somewhere in germany,
people would probably call for the national guard or at least for the cops!!
Thanx a bunch to Jimmy and Pam for organizing this event,
I've enjoyed it tremendously and sure hope I'll be able to come again some
day!!
Here's a bunch of pix for ya', click on'em to load a bigger image.
Enjoy...
