During this trip I covered 9125 miles or 14682 km in 38 days.
The bike burned 216 gallons or 817.5 liters of fuel, wich comes down to
an average of 42.2 mpg or 5.5 l/100km. I changed the motor oil twice and
the tranny and primary fluids once, replaced the spark plugs once and in
Dallas I had to put on a new rear tire. Somewhere in California I bought
a clip for the stator plug, and in New Mexico I had to buy new handlebar
grips, because the old cushion grips started to disintegrate. And finally
I had to buy a new oil dipstick after I'd lost the old one somewhere in
Alabama. But that's all the bike needed during these six weeks (well, besides
a daily pat, of course ;-)
I knew from the beginning that this trip would gonna be a blast,
but actually it exceeded all my expectations by far!! I've had the time
of my live cruising this country and meeting so many of you great people,
thank you so much for all the friendship and hospitality I've received!
I'm looking forward to meet again with each one of you someday,
y'all take care out there !!!
The End
